Where do you find literature?
I use an array of different databases across many different sectors, please see some examples from the Past Projects page if you want to know more. Some of databases are Open Access, meaning that articles are freely available to the general public. Others can only be legally accessed via a paywall. I only ever access material legally. In the event that you hire me, I may ask for access to databases. If you are not sure what these are, I have a good knowledge of which services you may be eligible for for free, so please do ask. From previous experience, I have found that contacting authors is a great way to get access to hard to find academic articles! I also have a good knowledge of the charity sector and grey literature.
What are your products?
The short answer is it’s up to you! Based on past experiences, I typically write a report which will contain:
- an executive summary,
- case studies
- summaries of each individual piece of literature or evidence
- a list of search terms and databases consulted
That last one is really important. I place a very high value on showing you how I found information. New evidence is produced on a daily basis and you should feel empowered and inspired to seek it yourself!
Do you provide primary research?
Yes! I have experience in all stages of the research process. By way of example, it’s perfectly fine to hire me to analyse survey or interview results.
What subjects do you cover?
I am always up for new adventures, but if you want to play it safe I have done lots of work in health, social care, education and the arts.
I’m a student. Can you find material for my essay?
Academic honesty is paramount to our business. We are not an essay mill. Please do your own work.
Are your services confidential?
Absolutely. However, some of my clients may seek publicity for their projects and I am happy to publish findings in an agreed format.
